News - A full team visit to the Invicta Council No. 54

The District Grand Prefect R.W. Bro. Brian Ward accompanied by a large contingent of District Grand Officers attended the Invicta Council 54 Installation meeting held at the Franklin Rooms Masonic Centre in Gillingham on Monday 28th October 2024.

The Worshipful Master, W. Bro Neville Fourie, ably assisted by his officers opened the council in due form before the District Grand Director of Ceremonies W. Bro Jody Townsend was admitted to the Lodge room. He announced to the brethren that the District Grand Prefect stood without and that he demanded admission. The District Grand Prefect, accompanied by his District Grand Officers was then escorted into the lodge room and accepted the gavel. The District Grand Prefect was then warmly greeted by the Worshipful Master and the assembled Brethren and responded by thanking the assembled brethren for their warm salutations. He then took the opportunity to introduce members of his escort and thanked them for their support. He also took the time to welcome the numerous visitors who had come along to support the council. This done the District Grand Prefect then handed the gavel back to its rightful owner.

The Worshipful Master W. Bro Neville Fourie then proceeded to install the Master elect, Bro. Bill Pennell into the chair of the council in a very sincere manner. W. Bro. Bill was then pleased to appoint W. Bro. Fourie as Immediate Past Master before going on to invest and appoint his officers for the year. Who were as follows:

Under any other business the District Grand Prefect was invited to present a Grand Council Certificate to Bro. Christian Doll which he did with pleasure.

During the first rising the District Grand Prefect thanked the Worshipful Master and brethren again for their warm welcome and for their support of the Social Event held in August and which realised the magnificent sum of £2,040.

The District Grand Prefect, accompanied by his escort of District Grand Officers then retired from the council to partake in refreshments at the bar before enjoying a superb festive board with all of the brethren afterwards.
