The regular meeting for the Paddock Wood Council No.88 held on Wednesday 28th January was attended by twenty members of the council, supported by three guests and visitors, one being the District Grand Secretary W.Bro. Derek Wilkins.

The main business of the evening was to conduct the Ceremony of Grand Tilers of Soloman and admit Bros John Hills, Gavin Crickett and Tony Chrstholm (a member of the West Kent Council No.66) into the degree. The ceremony was carried out in a truly excellent manor by the Worshipful Master; W. Bro. David James who was enthusiastically assisted by the Bros David Austin and Peter Hayler the Senior and Junior Wardens respectively. The lecture for the degree was given in a faultless manor by R.W.Bro. David Jordan.

Another highlight of the evening was to ballot for Bro. Mark Estaugh as a joining member of the council. This was duly done and not unexpectedly the ballot proved to be unanimously in favour of Mark becoming a member of the council. Mark was duly welcomed by the Worshipful Master and the brethren alike.

Under any other business Bro. Peter Halyer obtained the consent of the brethren to proceed with the next steps of getting the banner he had designed for the council approved with MMH. Exciting times are surely on the horizon for the council.

The Worshipful Master having completed the remaining council business closed the Council in due form and following the customary photographs the brethren dined together at the festive board.
