On Wednesday 18th February the Worshipful Master of the West Kent Council No.66, W. Bro. Paul Gillingham assisted by his officers decided worked the ceremony of the Degree of Knights of Constantinople.

It was decided to demonstrate this ceremony rather than conduct the ceremony of Red Cross of Babylon for their two eligible candidates because the Past Masters Council, Roy Albett John Williams will be conducting this ceremony in July for many candidates from different Councils throughout the District.

Bro. Peter Hayler, a regular, and most welcome visitor to the West Kent Council and being one of the Common People, kindly volunteered to act as candidate.

The Worshipful Master W. Bro. Paul Gillingham delivered a fine ceremony ably supported by his officers, in particular W. Bro. Alan Coxon M.B.E. who delivered a faultless Lecture of the Degree.

R.W. Bro. David Viggers as the most senior member present presented a Grand Council certificate to Bro. Philip Gurney which was clearly appreciated by the recipient.

The Festive Board which followed was full of laughter and masonic anecdotes which get more elaborate each time they are recanted.
